High-efficiency microwave-optical quantum transduction based on a cavity electro-optic superconducting system with long coherence time

Abstract Frequency conversion between microwave and optical photons is a key enabling technology to create links superconducting quantum processors realize distributed networks. We propose microwave-optical transduction platform based on long-coherence time radio-frequency (SRF) cavities coupled electro-optic mitigate the loss mechanisms that limit attainment of high efficiency. optimize field overlap coupling losses in design while achieving long photon lifetime at milli-Kelvin temperatures. This represents significant enhancement efficiency up 50% under incoming pump power 140 ?W, which allows few-photon signals. Furthermore, this scheme exhibits resolution for optically reading out dispersive shift induced by transmon qubit SRF cavity. also show low enhance fidelity heralded entanglement generation two remote systems. Finally, precision sensing can be reached below standard limit.
